Dr. jur. Claus Kleber

has been anchorman and news bureau chief of ZDF heute-journal since February 2003. While studying law, Claus Kleber worked as a reporter and anchorman for the German broadcast station Südwestfunk. After having completed his Ph.D., he began his career in 1986 as the Washington correspondent for the German radio stations SWF and DLF. After a stint as editor-in-chief of RIAS-Radio Berlin in 1989, he returned to Washington as a radio correspondent for NDR/WDR. Before Claus Kleber took over at ARD studios in Washington, he worked for five years as an ARD television correspondent. Before returning to Germany, he worked as bureau chief at ARD studios in London.
