Political Breakfast with Alaeddin Boroujerdi

Berlin, March 6, 2007

Political Breakfast
Fazlollah Baghestan. Alaeddin Boroujerdi,
Klaus Wehmeier

Which way is Iran headed? This question was at the heart of the Political Breakfast with Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Chairman of the Committee of National Security and Foreign Affairs of the Assembly of the Islamic Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Mr. Boroujerdi spoke with German legislators and senior government representatives.

Mr. Boroujerdi stated Iran’s position in the conflict surrounding the country’s nuclear program as well as Iranian interests in Iraq and Afghanistan. Other topics included Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s visit to Saudi Arabia, a leading power among majority Sunni Arab states.

The Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of senior foreign policy practitioners to its Background Discussions . As in the larger Bergedorf Round Tables, these confidential discussions take place removed from public notice.
