Political Breakfast with Mitoji Yabunaka

Berlin, May 9, 2007

Political Breakfast
Mitoji Yabunaka

What positions is Japanese foreign policy taking in a time of dynamic changes in the Asia-Pacific region? In what directions is Japan’s relationship with China headed? Mitoji Yabunaka, Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan, spoke with German lawmakers and government officials on his country’s ties with the region’s up-and-coming states and on regional cooperation on issues such as the environment. The discussion also focused on North Korea’s nuclear program.

The Körber Foundation regularly invites small groups of senior foreign policy practitioners in Berlin to its Background Discussions. As in the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussion is held away from public notice.
