Political Breakfast with Saeed Jalili
Berlin, June 12, 2007
|
What foreign policy is Iran pursuing? Saeed Jalili, Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, spoke with Bundestag law makers and representatives of the German government about Iran’s nuclear program, challenges facing the region, and his country’s relationship with Europe. Jalili also discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Afghanistan, and Tehran’s relationship with Hizbollah and Hamas.
The Political Breakfast with Saeed Jalili continues the Körber Foundation’s tradition of dialog with Iran. Previous speakers at Political Breakfasts have included Alaeddin Boroujerdi , Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Committee of National Security and Foreign Affairs, and former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami .
The Körber Foundation regularly invites small groups of senior foreign policy practitioners in Berlin to its Background Discussions. As in the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussion is held away from public notice.
