Political Breakfast with Michel Miraillet
Berlin, May 9, 2008
|
Michel Miraillet, Director of the Department for Strategic Affairs in the French Ministry of Defence, discussed with Members of the German Bundestag, representatives of the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Foreign Office and the German Ministry of Defence about French defence policy.
The topics of the discussion included France’s planned reintegration into NATO’s military structures, the strengthening of the European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) as well as security and defence issues on the agenda of the upcoming French EU presidency.
The discussion with Michel Miraillet continues the tradition of dealing with security policy issues at the Körber Foundation. This series has included the Political Background Discussion with Lieutenant General Henry A. Trey Obering III as well as the 138th Bergedorf Round Table on the topic (Warsaw 2007).
Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of senior Berlin foreign policy professionals to its Background Discussions . As is the case with the Bergedorfer Round Tables, the discussions take place confidentially and away from public attention.
