The role of NATO in Afghanistan

Lieutenant General Karl W. Eikenberry, Deputy Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, met December 3, 2008, with members of the German Bundestag, representatives of the Federal Foreign Office, the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Ministry of Defence, the Federal Intelligence Service as well as of selected think tanks to discuss the role of NATO in Afghanistan and the future tasks and challenges of the Alliance. Furthermore, the discussion focused on Germany’s contribution to NATO as well as on the perception of the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. continue
