The participants of the 165th Bergedorf Round Table, which was held in cooperation with the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) in Saint Petersburg from 21-23 May 2017, examined the trajectory of the relationship between Russia and Europe in light of the new geopolitical coordinates.

In the past few years, we have witnessed the disintegration of the existing European security order and the return of geopolitics to the continent, triggering a deep crisis in Russian-European relations. This, along with doubts about the continued US commitment to European security and rifts within the European Union, has altered the strategic landscape of the continent. It is unclear what this new age of uncertainty will mean for relations between Russia and Europe.
