All of us – including universities – must take action in the fight against climate change! But how can that be done when a nation’s government, like the one in Brazil, hardly acts sustainably? And where do Germany’s universities stand on the topic of sustainability?
Together with colleagues, Tristan McCowan has examined the activities against climate change of fourteen universities in seven countries, and gives specific recommendations for university administrators and stakeholders.
The study was commissioned by Körber-Stiftung in preparation for the 2021 Global University Leaders Council. From 2nd till 4th of June Leaders of Higher Education Institutions from all areas of the world come together online to discuss actions, potentials and obstacles in their fight against climate change as an institution. The GUC Hamburg is an initiative of the German Rectors´Conference, Universität Hamburg and Körber-Stiftung.
