The 58th Munich Security Conference (MSC) was held from February 18 to 20. Due to the pandemic, there were fewer guests, fewer media representatives and smaller delegations. Moreover, additional digital and participatory formats complemented the traditional activities over the weekend.
In addition to participating in the main programme, the Munich Young Leaders (MYL) took part in exclusive background discussions with high-ranking participants of the conference. These were for example Ng En Hen, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Singapore, and Pekka Haavisto, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland.
Part of the MYL was on site, the other part was connected via the digital conference platform of the MSC, which ensured that the digital MYL participants also could take part in the normal conference programme and could interact with the other participants and fellow MYL.
In order to protect all guests and partners as well as the public as comprehensively as possible, the MSC, in cooperation with all relevant authorities, has developed a detailed hygiene and protection concept that exceeded the legal requirements.
