Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the 160th Bergedorf Round Table that took place in Beijing and explored the topic “New Players – Old Rules? The Global Order in Transition”.

European refugee policy, stability in the Middle East and the relationship between Russia and Europe – these topics will be at the focus of the Berlin Foreign Policy Forum on November 10, organized by the Körber Foundation in conjunction with the Federal Foreign Office.

While the search for order has long been defined by the concepts of Western societies, the emerging powers are often seen as seeking to change the status quo. The 160th Bergedorf Round Table in Beijing, 28 - 30 October, will explore different concepts of order and how to apply them.

Mark Lagon, President of Freedom House, met with members of the Körber Network Foreign Policy. He explained the work of Freedom House and talked about the freedom of press and the current threats to it.

Körber Foundation welcomed Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Senator Elizabeth Warren for a Political Breakfast in its Berlin Office. The discussion with Members of the German Bundestag and experts focused mainly on the crises inside and outside of Europe.
