Political Background Discussion with Gholam Hossein Nozari

Gholam Hossein Nozari, Minister of Petroleum of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with members of the German Bundestag, representatives of the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Foreign Office, the Office of the Federal President, the Federal Intelligence Service as well as with associates of selected think tanks to discuss current trends in Iranian energy policy. Furthermore, the discussion focused on prospects for a European-Iranian cooperation in the field of energy security as well as on Iran’s bilateral energy relations with China, India and Russia.

The Political Background Discussion with Gholam Hossein Nozari continues Körber Foundation’s tradition of dialogue with Iran. This series includes the Political Breakfasts and Background Discussions with Ali Ahani, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mehdi Safari, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Manouchehr Mohammadi, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Hassan Rohani, member of the Supreme National Security Council, the Expediency Council, the Assembly of Experts of the Islamic Republic of Iran and President of the Center for Strategic Research, as well as the field trip of the Körber Network Foreign Policy to Iran.

As in the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place shielded from the public, so as to enable a confidential, frank, and constructive exchange.
