Fayez A. Tarawneh, Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court in Jordan, met in Berlin with Members of the German Bundestag, representatives of government agencies and selected experts to discuss current developments in Jordan and regional challenges in the Middle East. He focused on the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians and the conflict in Syria. Tarawneh described the economic and societal effects of the civil war on Jordan, whose population has increased by twenty per cent in two years due to the influx of Syrian refugees.
