Yuval Diskin, former Director of Israel’s internal security service Shin Bet (2005-2011), met in Berlin with Members of the German Bundestag, representatives of government agencies and selected experts to discuss the current state of the peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians. He argued that for a sustainable solution regional powers such as Jordan and Egypt had to be included in the negotiations. He advocated a “package deal” linking the peace and security question with the pressing challenges of water and energy supply.
