Political Breakfast with H.E. Dr. Majid Takht-Ravanchi

Berlin, 7 February 2017

The Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Majid Takht-Ravanchi, met in Berlin with Members of the German Bundestag, representatives from government agencies and Berlin-based think tanks to talk about the implications of the latest executive orders of President Trump for Iran and the future of the nuclear deal. Within this context the discussion also touched upon the recent Iranian missile tests. Furthermore, the minister talked about the conflicts in the region, especially in Syria and Yemen, and expressed his view on the role of Iran. With regard to the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia he encouraged all initiatives aimed at intensifying constructive dialogue.

Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
