The President of the Republic of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, met with Members of the German Bundestag as well as representatives of several ministries and selected think tanks to talk about European security and defense policy, transatlantic relations and the upcoming Estonian EU Presidency. She called for increased European defense cooperation in the fight against external threats. She expressed her confidence in the European Union, but demanded a frank assessment of its strengths and weaknesses.
Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
