Political Breakfast with Kurt Volker

Berlin, 25 October 2017

Ambassador Kurt Volker, US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations, spoke to Members of the German Bundestag as well as representatives of several ministries and selected think tanks about the status of the conflict in Ukraine. Ambassador Volker explained Washington’s view of the current situation, and subsequently outlined the respective parties’ potential strategies. The Ambassador also discussed the prospects of Russia’s proposal of establishing a UN peacekeeping mission, and explained the relevance of the current conflict for both Ukraine and international community at large.

Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
