The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, visited Körber Foundation for a Political Breakfast on current dynamics in the Middle East. Speaking to Members of the German Bundestag, senior-level civil servants, and select experts, Minister Shoukry offered his views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Egypt’s role in Syria and its relations with Saudi Arabia. Further topics of discussion included Cairo’s position on the EU migration and asylum policy, as well as domestic developments under president el-Sisi.
Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
