The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, spoke to Members of Parliament and representatives of various ministries and select think tanks about Turkey’s perspective on the various conflicts afflicting the Middle East. Minister Çavuşoğlu examined the current dynamics of the war in Syria, as well as the conditions prevailing in Iraq, the situation of the Kurds and the Saudi-Iranian rivalry. The Minister furthermore shed light on the respective role of Germany and the EU, as well as the US and Russia, and discussed these countries’ respective bilateral relations with Turkey.
Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
