Dr Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, spoke to members of the German Bundestag as well as a small number of administration officials and select experts on the future of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Dr Araghchi examined the JCPOA’s significance for stability in a volatile region, as well as current dynamics and challenges in Tehran’s bilateral relations with Washington and Brussels. Furthermore, the conversation focused on Iran’s regional role, with particular reference to the respective situations in Syria and Lebanon, as well as the Arab-Israeli conflict.
