Gao Yunlong, Vice-Chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the China Foundation for Peace and Development, met with members of the German Bundestag as well as representatives and experts from ministries and the private sector for a Political Breakfast at Körber Foundation. The discussion focused on current challenges and opportunities of economic cooperation and the consequences of the trade dispute between China and the USA. Further topics included the treatment of minorities in China, the influence of Chinese companies in Europe and Beijing’s role in the future of multilateralism.
Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
