Berlin, 28 May 2019
Kiron Skinner, Director of Policy Planning Staff in the U.S. State Department, met with representatives from the German Bundestag and various ministries as well as experts from think tanks and the private sector for a Political Background Discussion at Körber Foundation. Skinner and the participants spoke about current political changes in the United States and the future of transatlantic relations. The discussion also focused on workable models for a rules-based international order and European-Chinese relations from an US perspective.
Körber Foundation regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
