Berlin, 15 September 2021
Complementary to its series of Political Breakfasts and Background Discussions in Berlin, Körber-Stiftung’s format of “Digital Background Discussions” aims to facilitate a digital exchange about current challenges for foreign and security.
Vladimir Milov, advisor to Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, spoke about Russian domestic and foreign policy as part of the “Digital Background Discussions” on 15 September 2021. Together with foreign policy decision-makers – including members of the German Bundestag, selected representatives of various ministries and experts from renowned think tanks – Vladimir Milov discussed the current political situation in Russia and beyond. Against the backdrop of the upcoming elections in Russia, the debate addressed above all the role of the Russian opposition at home and abroad. Furthermore, the participants discussed the current approval ratings of the ruling party as well as the electoral process in Russia.
The »Digital Background Discussion« Series – Continuing Dialogue in Times of Crisis
Körber-Stiftung regularly invites a small circle of high-ranking actors within Berlin’s foreign policy community to its Political Background Discussions. In order to continue our discussions in the digital realm, Körber-Stiftung has initiated a new series, the »Digital Background Discussions«, derived from the Political Background Discussions. With this series, Körber-Stiftung aims to facilitate an exchange about current challenges for foreign and security policy – including, but not limited to, the consequences of the Coronavirus crisis. As at the Bergedorf Round Tables, the discussions take place in a confidential setting, so as to enable a frank and constructive exchange.
