Europe needs a common understanding of collective history

The first meeting of the Körber History Reflection Group from 6 to 8 December 2018 in the Belarusian capital brought together a total of 21 historians, politicians and diplomats as well as representatives of civil society and the media. The two-day talks focused on the legacy of the two world wars in Eastern and Central Europe. In an interview, journalist Natalie Nougayrède talks about the threats to the European project and the instrumentalisation of history.

The Value of Europe (EUSTORY Summit 2018)

From 14 to 19 November 2018, the Körber-Stiftung together with its partners organised the EUSTORY Next Generation Summit in Berlin to focus on the processes of making, negotiating and maintaining peace in Europe. The EUSTORY Summit gave 120 young people from Europe and beyond the opportunity to dive into and explore history together with experts from the field of academia, journalism, education and arts. As part of the Körber-Stiftung’s focus topic „The Value of Europe“ we asked young people about the most important European values and their concerns about Europe’s future.
