Germans and Poles: Common history divides the European neighbours

Germans and Poles disagree on whether the sacrifices that the Polish people have made throughout history have been sufficiently recognised by the international public. This shows the “German Polish Barometer 2018” that was presented on the Körber History Forum. It also shows: the neighbours seem to hardly know each other.

"We should understand the frustrations of Central European countries"

Despite marked differences between Western and Central Eastern European countries regarding issues of the rule of law and migration policy, the French politician and former Director-General of the WTO Pascal Lamy remains convinced of a fundamental common European identity. Pascal Lamy talked to Körber Foundation during the first Paris Peace Forum that took place from 11 to 13 November 2018.
