May-Britt and Edvard Moser – Winner of the Körber European Science Prize 2014

The Norwegian researchers May-Britt and Edvard I. Moser received the Körber European Science Prize 2014 for their pioneering work in the field of brain research. In experiments on rats, they discovered special brain cells (neurons) which enable the animals to have precise spatial orientation. The insights thus gained could one day help Alzheimer patients to improve their restricted sense of orientation.
